September 2024 Newsletter
Dear friends,
Thank you for being part of this community! Maybe you join me weekly for yoga, hike with me on our monthly women’s hikes, use my herbal salves, have attended my retreats or coaching courses, or maybe you are just watching and observing what it is I offer. For whatever reason you are here, I want to sincerely offer my gratitude to you. I hope there is something in this newsletter that may speak to your heart. I always love hearing from you, and understanding your challenges, your happiness, and hearing about the ways you are learning and growing.
What I am learning:
This month I have learned a little more about manifestation, though not in the terms we often hear or use this word. I have learned that what is continually showing up in our lives, or what we are manifesting, is asking to be looked at. Whatever is manifesting in our lives comes from our desires. So far, this may all sound similar to the manifesting you have heard or learned about. If we just change our thoughts or think or desire something with intent, we will see it manifested. Why then does this not happen more easily if this is all it takes? Why do some of us continue to repeat patterns or experience the same challenges over and over, even when we are actively working on healing and changing our thoughts and beliefs? Here is the part that was new and different for me. We all have the thoughts we are aware of, the conscious desires of our hearts. Underneath that can often be a deeper driving desire, an unconscious belief or thought, that we may have had since early in our life. It is often a desire for safety, connection, trust or may be a part within us that feels vulnerable and is trying to protect us. This deepest driving desire is maybe something we are not even fully aware of, however, it is satisfying something in our subconscious that is stronger than our conscious desire. So, when we are examining those things in our lives that are challenging or dysfunctional, we want to be curious about what the deep desire is underneath. It can take a lot of patience and practice and shifting of perspectives to see what that deeper desire is and oftentimes it may surprise us.
I am so grateful for the continued guidance of my mentor and teacher, Bonnie Wallace, as I am exploring these subconscious beliefs that I have been holding onto for many years and that are showing up in my life as repetitive and dysfunctional patterns. Incorporating Ayurvedic philosophy and tradition with my nutrition and health, somatic nervous system practices, Tantra Yoga movement and mantras, and parts work has allowed us to uncover several of these long-held beliefs and begin to examine them. I am learning that healing happens layer by layer and in the time and way we are ready for. In what ways can you practice being more curious about your subconscious desires? What layers have you uncovered in your own healing this month?
What I am offering:
PSYCHOSOMATIC THERAPY:
I have had several opportunities to continue learning and expanding my knowledge, as I have worked with clients this past month. I have found how much I really love face readings! So much can be learned about an individual’s strengths and characteristics from a face analysis. All of the psychosomatic offerings bring increased awareness, love, and compassion to each individual as they begin to truly see themselves. This work is so transformative! Please reach out with any questions or respond to this email and set up a free consultation to see how this process could benefit you. See attached page for offerings and prices.
YOGA and RETREATS:
Join us every Tuesday at 8pm MST on zoom for 60 min of yoga, breathwork, and meditation. Join our Facebook group here to stay up to date on any changes to the schedule: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1997436973946383/?ref=share_group_link. The first class is always free and $10 per class after.
No class on September 24th as I will be out of town with no service.
I am offering private, in-home (or online) yoga lessons for those looking for more personalized attention. I also am happy to do private retreats tailored to you and your groups’ needs. These offerings are not on my website currently so please reach out via email if a personalized yoga session or retreat is of interest to you.

What I am reading:
I have been reading the book “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer this month. It is a combination of Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants intermixed with personal stories and I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have loved learning about the rich symbolism and sacredness of the ceremonies of many of the Indigenous tribes. I have felt a deeper understanding and appreciation for my garden and the plants that I grow and I have felt of the sacred responsibility we have to honor and love the land as I have read her beautifully descriptive words. One of my favorite chapters is “The Three Sisters”. Three Sisters refers to corn, beans, and squash and the interconnectedness both scientifically, nutritionally, and relationally. One passage from this chapter that really spoke to me were these words “The way of the Three Sisters reminds me of one of the basic teachings of our people. The most important thing each of us can know is our unique gift and how we use it in the world. Individuality is cherished and nurtured, because, in order for the whole to flourish, each of us has to be strong in who we are and carry our gifts with conviction, so they can be shared with others. Being among the sisters provides a visible manifestation of what a community can become when its members understand and share their gifts. In reciprocity, we fill our spirits as well as our bellies.”
What have you been reading lately? What is your gift to share with the world?
What I am loving:
When my daughter and her husband shared the exciting news that they were expecting a baby earlier this year, I honestly had mixed feelings about being a grandma. I think it just felt and sounded so old. With the arrival of beautiful Rosie Faye on August 15th I have found that I absolutely love being a grandma! This month I have been loving the newborn snuggles as I have spent time in Logan with Ellie, Kobe, baby Rosie. Watching my daughter step into motherhood and witnessing the miracle of a healthy new baby has filled my heart with so much love and gratitude. Is there something in your life you have been resistant to initially that in the end became a blessing you embraced with love?
Sending you all love and light,
❤️Jessica
